Almost finished!

We picked up some used wheels for the Fury today. They really set the car off! Looks great!Jacob and I have been busy putting the car back together. Still lots of little detail stuff to do.

Well shop class is over. Back from the body shop. Now we start putting it all back together.

The fury is almost finished. It is at the body shop for final body repairs and painting.

March 2012 - Paint Removal!!!

Let the paint removal begin! We have sanded, ground and wire brushed with side grinders! All paint is almost gone. This is a lot of work. Most paint on all surfaces is removed. Just detail removal remains.

Engine Start up! February 10, 2012

Well we got the Fury started! It took a while to get the carb and timing right. It still needs a little (lot) fine tuning. It back-fired a lot during the first few tries and it blew out both mufflers :(  So we still don't have a good idea how it will sound when they are replaced. We had fun getting it going. Much thanks to my neighbor Jim and half brother Bill for helping to get it dialed in.

We got the engine in! After much pushing and shoving it is in the car. Now lots of detail stuff to get it running: -Connect and repair wiring harness -Install radiator and related hosing -Remove and flush the old gas tank -Connect transmission linkages -Lots of other details...

The engine is coming together nicely! Crank and pistons were put in last week (January 6, 2012). Today we put on the heads, cam, valve train and front cover. 

December 2011

I've been working on the car a little this month while the class is on break.

I've started the interior. The carpet is in, back seat is in. Repaired the heater controls. Installed wiring for the rear speakers, amp and sub-woofer.

Front seat is in! It's starting to look like a real car.

The engine is back from the machine shop. It looks great, can't wait to start putting it together with the class in January.

Also rebuilt the transmission. I took some pictures of it when I had it all apart, but I had the camera settings wrong and the pics were all blurry. So all I have are pics of it back together. You'll just have to trust that all the time I spent in the garage Friday was rebuilding the transmission.
